This week we enjoyed having the 5th/6th graders lead our chapel service. We started practicing this week so that we are ready to lead next week! It is exciting to tell everyone about the coming of Jesus’ birth!
Information for next week:
*Each Christmas season instead of exchanging gifts, Zion’s students participate in various service projects. This year, our class has the opportunity to help out an organization called “Ready Readers”. This organization gives books to preschool-age children from low-income communities. Ready Readers is in need of picture books or board books that are new, like new, or gently used. These books need to be good read aloud books for children 5 years and under. If you are unable to bring in any books, please feel free to send a donation in with your child because Ready Readers will be more than happy to purchase books with your monetary donation. Please bring in books or money by Wed. Dec. 16th. If you have any questions, please let me know!
*Our Advent Service is at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Your child needs to be in Standardized Dress for that service. For the 7 p.m. service, please have your child wear church clothes. Your child needs to be in the church basement at 6:40 p.m.
*I will be at a conference on Thursday. Julie Reitz will be my sub that day. I will not be checking my email so please email/call Mrs. Schmidt in the school office if you have an emergency.
*Six Flag Reading: The sheet went home before Thanksgiving break. If your child is participating, you may turn in the completed sheet as soon as you are finished!
