This week in chapel we celebrated Epiphany. Daniel Thoelke, a sophomore at St. Charles Lutheran High Zion and Zion alumni, led our chapel and reminded us that we are always surrounded by God’s light!
It is wonderful to see so many third grade families in worship! Keep being that great model for your children!!!!

*We sing on Sunday, Jan. 17th at 10:45 at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, which is located at 907 Jungermann Rd. in St. Peters.
*It’s that time again to register for Summer Camp. Enrollment packets are being sent home with a brochure highlighting the many new and exciting events Zion’s Summer Camp will host. To register return the enrollment form, calendar and registration fee to the school office. Spaces are limited so don’t miss out, register early! What we will be working on:
Religion: Second Set of the Commandments
Writing: We started Writing Workshop this week which entails the students writing lots of pages! The goal is to write a persuasive speech while increasing our writing stamina.
Reading: Observe how setting changes throughout a book and how setting can affect a story, checking for comprehension
Math: Telling time to the minute, round numbers to the nearest hundred, writing fraction to show parts of a whole, subtracting 5’s and 6’s, and review multiplication of 2’s and 7’s
English: How to write book, magazine, and song titles correctly
Art: Watercolor techniques
Science: Started a new unit about what makes objects move…we will have a Quiz at the end of next week over Lesson 1. This won’t be something that the children will study for at home.
