It was wonderful to see all the food donations on Wednesday for chapel. Thank you for helping families at Concordia Seminary have a blessed Thanksgiving! Here is our Student Council students assembling and delivering the meals:
Information for the coming week(s):
*Memory Work-a change in the schedule so that means the only Memory Work your child has for the next couple of weeks is to memorize his/her part for the Advent Service. Parts can be said any time before Dec. 2nd.
*3/4 Advent Service is Dec. 7th at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
*Keep practicing for the music auditions in December!
*I am hoping to send a book order home next week so that books can be ordered for Christmas!
What we will be working on next week:
Religion-Finish up the story of Moses
Reading-Finding evidence to support answers in non-fiction text, Context Clues, and Idioms. Please keep checking in with your child about his/her reading log. The expectation for home reading is that your child reads every night Monday-Thursday and one time on the weekend. For 20 minutes read, your child should get thru 12-15 pages in his/her Just Right book.
Grammar-Singular Possessives e.g. the boy’s shirt
Spelling-No test; we will review what we have been working on these past couple of weeks
Math-We started multiplication today; 1’s and 10’s. It is exciting! 🙂 I have started to send home exit slips for each math lesson. They will always be half sheets of paper that have the words “Exit Slip” on them. If a star is on the sheet, your child got the concept the first time it was taught. If the word “reteach” is on the sheet, that meant the lesson was repeated for your child. If you see “reteach”, this could be a concept that you practice at home to make sure your child got the concept. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about it.
